The domestic gaming market currently has less than 10% of solutions that have no analogues in Russia, Maxim Parshin noted. These are mainly systems that take a long time to pay for themselves, but are necessary for applied tasks. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development noted that the register of domestic software currently includes 64 products related to game development. According to the Ministry, the Russian gaming industry has significantly consolidated over the past year.
According to the CEO of the Association of Professionals in the Game Operation and Development Industry (APRIORI) Alexander Mikheev,
about 90% of Russian content writing servicegaming projects do not survive to release, as many developers do not know business processes
According to him, currently, many software solutions that are licensed abroad are used in the production of Russian games. Russian analogues are not in demand, as they are quite weak. The expert noted that industry requests are currently being processed, and priority local products that need to be promoted and popularized are being formulated against their background.

– APRIORI, the Institute for Internet Development (IRI) and the Internet Initiatives Development Fund have come forward with an initiative to create the first acceleration or pre-acceleration program for game developers in Russia. The process of forming the main criteria and tasks from the gaming industry is currently underway. This should increase the level of competence of developers and increase the chances of success for Russian games.
The expert noted that it is often difficult to break even on the domestic market. To solve this problem, areas are currently being identified that will give Russian developers the opportunity to publish outside of Russia, he said.
The gaming industry in Russia is currently developing quite well, but it lacks the infrastructure to create and release games, said Vyacheslav Utochkin, co-founder and general producer of Geeky House, at the SPIEF. He is confident that government support for the industry is necessary, and cited the example of New Zealand, where the local government compensates game developers for 20% of their costs.
It is also necessary to create gamedev cities, which the Russian government announced last year.
In December, the Cabinet of Ministers announced its intention to support computer game producers. One of the measures is the creation of a state structure, Rosgeim, which will develop and publish games. The goal is to include Russian game development among the leaders of the world market, to achieve 25 blockbusters and 40 smaller projects by 2030. As a result, the number of users of Russian content is expected to increase to 1 billion people, and five game development cities will be created. But so far there has been no progress in this area.
